i need to contact a gasoline company and a gadget company to sponsor one of the events of my org.

the event is called ecotours and i'm excited about it. it's like a field trip. people will go to 2 places--Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas, and i forgot the other one :D. i hope i can join the trip.

and since i am part of the Corporate Relations committee, i need to call some companies, and ask them if they can sponsor the event.

i'm really nervous about the whole calling the companies thing. but i think it will be fun at the same time.

my cousin left a while ago. she would be going back to canada. but i think she'll come back here in december.

Forum

yesterday, i attended a foum about the economic situation here in our country. it was fun. they talked about some interesting issues.

i was also able to meet Sen. Noynoy Aquino. i enjoyed his speech very much. he threw a few jokes and funny lines there. he was also nice.

Future Happenings

Friday Night: i will watch a play entitled, "Tarong."

Saturday Afternoon: i will attend a forum--kamalaean--another activity of my org. the forum will talk about the issues here in the Philippines.

one of the speakers will be Sen. Noynoy Aquino.

Simple Plan will have a concert here in manila. i want to watch the concert, but i am not sure if i will be able to. the prices of the tickets are expensive. plus, they will have their concert on august 4--MONDAY! i have classes the next day--my first class will start at 7:30. ARGH!!!

Valentine's In August

we had our general assembly for our org activity called Valentine's In August.

i think the idea is cool. we send flowers to people upon other people's request(they have to pay for the flowers though).

i joined the finance committee! weeeee! all we have to do is count the money, impose the rules, and.......:D!!

i think this will be a fun activity.

Playing For Pizza

finally, i was able to buy the book playing for pizza by john grisham.

and i got it for a lower price. weeeeee!

Birthday

it was my birthday last thursday.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME!!

there were people who i didn't expect to greet me, but greeted me a happy birthday. i am just thankful that somehow they remembered my birthday.

it was also a weird birthday. my parents weren't here.(my mom arrived around 6 pm). i decided to stay in school and see some of my old teachers. my blockmates were singing happy birthday during our classes and the fire drill.

it was just different.

Research Paper

we will be doing another research paper for english. i am not sure yet on what topic i will focus on, but i have an idea already.

the topic is "the community of nations"--how other countries relate to other countries.

Jessica King Is Out Of SYTYCD

So You Think You Can Dance top 10 finalist Jessica King is out of the competion.

Jessica got injured and she had to leave the competition. because of this, Comfort Fedoke, who got eliminated during the last results show was asked to compete again in the competition.

the doctor of jessica said that she would need to rest. it's sad the she had to leave. i was somehow looking forward to see her have an amazing performance with another partner.

Comfort got Twitch as her partner.

comfort has another chance to prove her worth. however i somehow feel sad that thayne, who also got eliminated during the last results show(with comfort), will not have a chance to come back.

Gig

my friends will have a gig this saturday. i don't think i will be able to go to their gig. but i went to their practice a while ago. i heard their new song, and i like it.

they rehearsed for abour 4 hours.

i was also able to eat brownies there! :D

i really liked this routine. it was fun, it was entertaining it was great. the sad part is both of them left the competition after this. i really enjoyed watching them. they both have amazing personalities.

i really searched for a video of this routine without the judges' comments. :D

ORG

we had our first general assembly yesterday--ORG Genereal Assembly

it was fun! there were lots of food and funny moments. i also signed up for some of the org's activities.

i am now looking forward to having lots of fun in my org.

Filipinos

Melody and Ryan from "so you think you can dance" season 1 are filipino american dancers.

MELODY LACAYANGA
Melody Lacayanga is a Filipino American dancer from Daly City, California. She was the runner-up in Season 1 of FOX's So You Think You Can Dance. One of her close friends, Nick Lazzarini, was named the winner.

She is a trained jazz dancer. Among the other styles she performed on the show were hip hop, jive and Latin.

Lacayanga began dancing at age 5. At age 20, she moved from the San Francisco Bay Area to Los Angeles to try to pursue a dance career.

RYAN CONFERIDO

Ryan Conferido (born 1983) is a Filipino American bboy, best known for being a contestant on the first season of the United States dance competition television series, So You Think You Can Dance (2005).

Born on June 13, 1983 in Downey, California, Conferido was raised in a strict religious household where dance was discouraged. He picked up bboying on his own in high school. In 2005, though he had no formal training, he decided to audition for the first season of the Fox dance competition So You Think You Can Dance. His impressive self-taught breakdancing style earned him rave comments from the judges and was eventually picked as one of the top 16 finalists for the show. On the premiere episode, his ability to pick up what seems to be a technically difficult Latin dance routine brought him a standing ovation. He proceeded through multiple rounds of eliminations, and was one of the last 16 dancers eliminated.

Prior to his fame in the Fox show, Conferido appeared in numerous movies as an extra.

Conferido was also seen in some of the audition episodes during the 2006 season accompanying some of his dancing associates who were trying out during the new auditions in Los Angeles. He and his "Sickstep" (i think it's "six step crew") dance troupe were invited to be featured performers on the June 21, 2006 episode.

Following news that he and other members have officially left the dance crew Sickstep(i think it's "six step crew"), Conferido started his own crew Quest together with Hokuto Konishi, Steve Terada, Victor Kim, Nick Teti, Brian Hirano & Aris Paracuelles(if i'm not mistaken, sara von gillern and dominic sandoval are members of this crew). Conferido is also a core member of the b-boy crew "The City Drifters". He has been in music videos for Papa Roach, the live action adaptation of Fat Albert, the Bboy DVD Unsigned Undadog, and "Based on a True Story, volume 2". He also appeared for both an interview and performance on Live with Regis and Kelly.

Practical Exam

we had our practical exams--PE--ARNIS!!

i got 24 over 25 because i committed a mistake on the second to the last round. oh well. 24 is not a bad score anyway.

Debate

we had to attend a debate for our "alternative class program."

schedule: July 7 3:30-5:30. we were there before 3:30, but the speakers arrived at 5:00.

ending: we left at 6:30. (at least most of us)

it was somehow interesting though. i noticed some things that amazed me.

Pizza Day

it was pizza day yesterday.

i had pizza for lunch

then i had pizza for dinner.

i went to the mall with my cousins, and spent the whole afternoon there. then we went to another mall, and we left at 10 pm.
