Oral Test

we will have an oral test in one of our subjects. i am not that good in oral defenses/talks/tests. it's a good thing it will be one-on-one so i won't feel nervous--too nervous.

we were given thesis statements and we must answer questions. i think it will take 30 minutes. i am not at all excited for this but i hope i can do well. i think it will have a huge effect on our grades.

good luck to me.

Watching It Again

i am now watching the episodes of "the amazing race Asia 2"

and i am enjoying it. but it's also sad seeing the teams who were eliminated.

but it's still exciting. it's still fun to watch. and i saw some parts i never saw before. i am now in episode 5--just finished episode 5.

some parts are funny. especially when the team members fight. don't think that i like arguments, but it's funny how they still help each other after their fights. it's a funny thing when people fight and make up for it in less than 5 minutes.

and teams who never fight amazes me. they are always cool and steady with everything. even when they are facing difficult situations, they still smile and laugh their problems away. they just enjoy the race.

i want to join the amazing race too--wild goal/dream--hahahahaha. i want to experience the race, and i want to travel. hahaha. it's a great chance to have fun while traveling the world. but i don't think it's going to happen anyway. haha. there are just some things i know i can' do.

Bomb Scare

yesterday, i was buying food when i noticed a commotion.

earlier that day, a man left a box, a big one. later that afternoon, people were panicking because they believed that the box contained a bomb or en explosive device. i never knew if they were correct.

i heard one lady said that the man who left the box might have the remote switch which will make the bomb explode. policemen arrived in the vicinity and checked out the box. there were a lot of people waiting for the findings.

if the people thought there was a bomb, why did they stay near the box? this was one question in my mind while everything was happening.

i saw the mall a while ago, and it's fine. no explosion happened yesterday. however this doesn't prove that there was no bomb yesterday. it's possible that the police was able to do things to prevent explosion.

in case there was really a bomb yesterday, it meant that i could've died in an explosion yesterday. it's just paranoia but i would never know. we'll never know when our lives will end.

so just enjoy life. live life to the fullest. cliche lines but we must apply it to our lives. i just hope i can apply it to my life also.

just be happy, but also be careful.

Overnight

after the field trip, we had a sleep over.

i was too lazy to go home after the trip. the first plan was to watch a movie. we were already planning when one person suddenly decided to back out. he said that his father might get mad. so that's what happened to the first plan.

then while figuring out what to do, a classmate of mine suggested the sleep over thing. i thought it was a good idea.

classmate 1 asked permission from his parents. they agreed. (he really wasn't expecting a yes but it was the answer.)

i asked permission. my parents didn't like the idea at first, but they said yes eventually.

classmate 2--we will go to his house for the sleep over. we were already there when he asked permission about the sleep over. hahahahaha.

it was fun. classmate 1 and i discovered things about classmate 2. we saw classmate 2's paintings. they were great, especially the dolphins.

Field Trip

we went to angat dam yesterday. this dam supplies the water and energy in our place, the metro manila.

we were supposed to go to EK, but due to some unknown forces, we went to angat dam. it wasn't a complete disaster, it's just that we could've had a better time in EK. we could enjoy ourselves more. all we did yesterday was look at how the energy is supplied--it's not that bad, but it was something we wouldn't trade for EK.

the fun part(for me) was the hiking and treking part. it was fun for the simple reason that i was walking with my classmates, and we were just laughing about different things. and i enjoy walking somehow. in my opinion, that was the best part. a lot of pictures were also taken. (i am still waiting for the pictures--i asked my classmate to send it to me)

the views were awesome. but EK would've been better(way better).

i fell asleep during the trip. i was trying my best not to fall asleep...but then again.

this was actually the first time that i came to school early for the field trip. i was always late for the field trip. the bus must depart at six, and for some reason, i wouldn't be there by 6. but this year was different. i was in school early.

i brought a lot of food. it's a tradition. but i was not able to finish them all. haha!!

the bus ride was also fun.

by 5:00, we were already back in our school(the past years, we were back by 7:00-9:00). yes, we were early. we were told that we would be back by 7......we arrived earlier.

Exit Interview

Exit interview=interview for graduating students.

i thought it would be something i wouldn't be happy about. i thought, after the interview, i would say, "ok, i messed up once again."

it turned out to be an "ok" interview. it was just like a normal conversation, except that i was talking about school stuff. i was able to answer everything. the questions were not the type of questions where there are correct and wrong answers, but i was still nervous.

i thought i'd spend 1 hour talking about the school, it's mission, vision, etc. but the interview lasted 20 minutes.

there was also a free snack--delicious pastry, and a bottle of water.

this exit interview really made me realize a lot of things. in that short span of time, i was able to remember events, and some things from my 4 year stay in my school as a high school student. i remembered even my experiences in outreach programs. i was able to cherish again the happy memories.--the joy, laughter, excitement, etc.

i am happy about the interview.

Coffee And Lyrics

After hours of trying, i was able to log in. WHEW!!!

now that i'm here, what will i do?

COFFEE

i drank coffee minutes ago, but i'm still sleepy. i think coffee can;t really help me in terms of "waking me up"--i said ME so the situation may be different for other people. hahaha!! but i still drink coffee. it tastes good--another "for me".

we went to a coffee shop and i was able to taste a new one a while ago. it tasted really good. my classmate and i left the cafe earlier than my other classmate. but after we left the cafe, the cafe started giving freebies. cakes, cookies, etc. ARGH!! hahaha!! i should have stayed, WE should have stayed. oh well.

LYRICS

i can't find the lyrics of a song.

so i decided to listen to the song and type the lyrics myself. unfortunately, there are a few parts which i can't understand--the words are not clear. but i was able to type more than one half(???) of the lyrics.

i just hope i succeed here.

Just Did Something Wrong

because the internet's back, i tried to do something. the outcome didn't turn out good. now, i can't view my blog. i can still post things, and approve comments, but i can't view my page. i think it's because of the deed i did.

i hope it will be back to normal. i hope i will be able to view my blog.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE!

Guess Who's Back

it's not really a who, it's a what.

it's the INTERNET!! YAY!! the internet here at home is working again. only, it's not like the way it was before. i think it's not yet completely fixed.

i can't watch videos on youtube. this is one example of the problem. the rest, i'll kepp it to myself for now.

but the good thing is.........the internet is working again(somehow).

i just hope it gets better.

Review

I wanted to place this review here right after i read it. but i wanted to ask permission from Nero1000. luckily, a while ago, he gave me the "alright" signal to post this here. so here it is.

i was thinking about what i would write here today. then things happened. i got his permission, so i decided to post this today.

it's a review about eyeshine.

American band, Eyeshine, their lives and their musical careers.

Eyeshine, a band based San Diego, CA. The band consists of Johnny Yong Bosch as singer/guitarist, Maurice Salmin on drums, Alex Orantes on Bass, and Daniel Lee on lead guitar. The band is fairly unknown but is rapidly gaining a great reputation through their constant touring and performing all over the United States. The band have a very interesting and distinctive sound that they like to call ‘Edge Rock’ "which delivers huge hooks, infectious melodies, and elusive lyrics."

The band originally formed as part of a church band in San Diego seven years ago, the band at that point only consisted of Johnny Yong Bosch and Maurice Salmin. Johnny, or JYB as he is known, has had a very successful past. He was an actor on the popular children’s TV show ‘Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers’ and has since appeared in various martial arts movies. As well as being a band member he also does voice overs on many Japanese anime shows that cross over to America and the UK like ‘Bleach’ and ‘Trigun’, JYB also appears on various video games lending his voice for characters in the game. The band grew when Alex Orantes joined the group a year later.

‘How About That’

The band made little progress with producing music until 2005 when they released their debut EP ‘How About That’. The 7 song CD was received extremely well and a following for Eyeshine soon began to form. Fans of JYB, like myself, found themselves stumbling across his band through his personal websites and interviews, and would soon hear how powerful and inspiring their songs were. Many of the tracks on ‘How About That’ have very deep meanings. Members of Eyeshine never hid the fact that they’re Christians and many fans believe songs on the EP like ‘Not Really Good’ and ‘Need You Now’ are songs aimed at God, Jesus and struggles with their Christian beliefs. However many fans like to Eyeshine’s music for the easy listening, thought provoking songs that are on the CD. The band members were shocked and delighted when they sold out of their EP’s. With their garnering success they decided to create a full album in early 2007.

Throughout 2007 they’ve been touring and performing at many different anime and other film conventions all around America and in the studio recording their full album, ‘Red Lights/White Stripes’. They decided they needed to bring in another guitarist to take over lead from JYB. This brought in Daniel Lee. The band have been extremely busy making an impact on the American independent music scene this year and will send off the year by releasing ‘Red Lights/White Stripes’ in December 2007. With the release of their full album many fans hope this will be the time when Eyeshine are noticed by a record company and signed so their music can be played on a greater scale.

Fans

Eyeshine’s audience varies. People of all ages can enjoy their soft but exciting music. None of their songs contain explicit language or content allowing the music to be listened to by children and by viewing their band’s forum (http://forum.eyeshine.net/index.php?sid=6195672d372d432476656df2b26fc512) I saw that people as young as 12 have signed up to show their support, and others as old as 43 also enjoy their quality music. This shows how wide their range of music is and how it appeals to people of different generations.

Genre

As I stated previously they call their genre of music ‘edge rock’ because they are really on the edge of sounding different, but others have debated that their style is a mix of alternative rock, pop and Christian rock. In my opinion, if you try to classify the band as "they sound like this" they really don't, they sound similar to one group, but sort of like another, on the edge of a new sound. Hence, edge rock.

My Opinion

My positive views on Eyeshine are very strong. I had never listened to a band previously that every song they had produced I not only enjoyed but also loved. All the different lyrics and sounds captivated me and their ballad ‘Not Really Good’ was so powerful that it became my favourite song of all time due to its deep and emotionally moving lyrics. I have always been a fan of JYB’s work and this is what led me to discovering the band. I love introducing friends to their music because their usual reaction is the same as mine was, amazement. I really hope that their new album will bring all the success they deserve. Eyeshine’s music does not bore. There have been times I have listened to the album continuously through enjoyment of their songs. I give them a great two thumbs up!

INTERVIEW

Fellow music critique Craig listened to ‘How About That’ and here are his opinions on the band: On a first impression basis, I would say Eyeshine’s genre of music was New/Modern Rock. JYB has a wide range of vocals, good how he can instantly change the tone and pitch of his voice. His vocals are very good. Part of the chorus in the song ‘Drama Queen’ sounded like the ‘My Chemical Romance’ song ‘Helena’. I would listen to them again definitely; their songs are catchy, dynamic and good to listen to. In the songs Johnny Yong Bosch is constantly singing/talking about a girl or are aimed religiously at God, I think that’s the main meanings of their songs. I think the band is very good. Good vocals, good co-ordination of instruments, joy to listen to. My favourite song on ‘How About That’ was ‘In My Eye’. Brilliant acoustic start and a good catchy and emotional song. I give the band out of 10, a very good 8.

For more information on Eyeshine, check out their website: www.Eyeshine.net

This was a review made by Nero1000.

by the way, thanks nero.

Music

i already have the lyrics of "Don't Bury Your Eyes." but it's not complete. some lines are missing.

but that's alright, since it was sent by a member of the band. i am thankful since he sent me the lyrics.

i am listening to different songs now.

i am trying to know more songs as possible. i listened to some Paramore songs a while ago. and other songs too.

What I Found Out

SHE STILL REMEMBERS ME

a classmate of mine needed to get something in the grade school place. i accompanied him. i found out that he would meet a teacher.

she was my English teacher when i was in grade 5.

but the cool part is, she still remembers me. it has been years, but she was able to recognize me. she even remembered that i was her student when i was in grade 5.

actually, she didn't see me at first. i was looking at the changes of the grade school buildings. but when she saw me, she asked me if i was her student before. i said yes. we said, "grade 5" almost at the same time.

it amuses me.

GRADUATION PICTURES

i am not that happy with my graduation pictures.

they were not bad, but..................oh well!!!

Saying Hello

Thank you to all the eyeshine people in the chat box. they were nice. i met more people now. they are fun people.

Maurice(the drummer) also dropped by. i was able to say hello.

i was also able to talk to my classmate who's in ____. he logged in a while ago.

Met This Girl

i visited eyeshine's myspace account-- www.myspace.com/eyeshine

i was hoping to find the lyrics of "Don't Bury Your Eyes". i have been searching the net for this, but i can't find anything. i found the chat box and i decided to ask a question. someone answered.

she was the moderator of the chat box. she was a nice girl. she welcomed me in the eyeshine world. she even helped me set some things up. she also made me a member of the chat box.

i learned new things because of her. she told me many trivias about the band. she even said a few things about the other people who visit the chat box.

but it was already late there(in her place) so she needed to sign out.

to Lt._Momo_Hinamori, thank you for everything.

Wrong Move

i was worried that i would be late for my class a while ago. so i decided to take a cab instead of taking the train.

i was able to find a cab.

on a fly over, the cab ran out of gas. the cab driver even wanted me to walk away and find another cab. he didn't even care if a lot of cars were passing by.

if i had taken the train i would arrive much earlier. i was late of course. i spent more money to be late.

what's worse--the cab driver wasn't that nice either. lose-lose situation.

riding a cab a while ago was definitely a wrong move. but who knew that would happen? maybe it just wasn't a cab day for me.

Happy Trip

a classmate of mine will be leaving for the ______(the place) this night. i don't think he wants people to know where he's heading. so yes, i will leave it blank.

so to this person: don't forget my chocolates.

and remember that you are ther for a reason, to learn some things.

enjoy the stay there.

Eyeshine High

here's another video from eyeshine

the title of this video is "Come Back Now"

and another one.

the title of this is "cellophane Heart Girl"

the lyrics of cellophane heart girl:

I have got it stuck in my brain
That our better sides are the ones we contain

I relive the second we met
But the things I said are the words I regret

But none of this will bring you back

What may come from the hour you fell?
Should I take your things let them hang on a shelf

Now I don't understand what you've seen
Yet I must admit that you looked so serene

But none of this will bring you back

Cellophane heart girl
Have you found your feet on the floor?
I will pick you up till you're better

Cellophane heart girl
Have you found your feet on the floor?
I will pick you up till you're better

You are on my mind cellophane girl
You are on my mind don't pass on this world

Cellophane heart girl
Have you found your feet on the floor?
I will pick you up till you're better

Cellophane heart girl
Have you found your feet on the floor?
I will pick you up till you're better

i found interesting things on their website--www.eyeshine.net
check out the fanart and the bunnyshine. i found it very amusing and interesting.

i searched eyeshine.net on Google, and i found my blog on the second page. i was amused and overjoyed.

i just realized that visiting their website(www.eyshine.net) is actually fun. i just found out that they have games there. "Here are a few games for you bored ones out there"

they also have a myspace account--http://www.myspace.com/eyeshine. visit this for more songs, and for more info about the band.

Active

i participated in the intramural and the MST week challenge.

intramural=soccer. i was in the field for less than 10 minutes. i participated still. i was part of the "defense team." i was useful. however, i committed a violation. it was an accident. someone kicked the ball and i blocked it. but the ball bounced to my left hand. HANDBALL!!!

the MST week challenge was similar to the amazing race. it was a race. within the race, we must perform certain tasks, and answer questions.

it was a very tiring day. i was not able to watch a movie because of these activities. i want to rest now.

but i want to update my blog first. and surf the net.

Eyeshine

This post will be about the band Eyeshine.

i found this song and i liked it.

The vocalist is Johnny(he also plays the rhythm guitar). The drummer is Maurice. and the base player is Alex.

BAND HISTORY:(got it from their website: www.eyeshine.net--visit it for more info.)
Eyeshine's 3 piece edge rock band is emerging as one of the most promising unsigned groups out of California. With an arsenal of songs delivering huge hooks, infectious melodies, and elusive lyrics.

Johnny and Maurice began performing together 7 years ago in a church band. They eventually decided to take a shot at writing and playing their own original music. The band went through many incarnations until settling on the name Eyeshine in 2004. Alex joined the guys the following year becoming their bassist during the recording of their demo.

The independently produced EP, "How About That" was received well by fans and helped them to acquire enough gigs across the states to increase their following. "It helps a little to be an Ex-Power Ranger," states frontman Johnny. "The fans have always been supportive and we certainly wouldn't be here without them."

Now their debut full-length, "Red Stripes / White Lights," is currently in production and Eyeshine is still on the road. Check their myspace for the latest info on their gigs.

i found out about the band because the vocalist of the band's a former member of power rangers(yes, power rangers--mighty morphin power rangers). i watched mighty morphin power rangers:the move a few days ago and i decided to research about the cast. i wanted to know what happened to them after mmpp. i found out that one of them has a band. i heard this song and i liked it.

here's another video. i found it amusing for some reason.

here's the lyrics of the song "Sunday Flower"by Eyeshine.

Can't figure out the way you are
It's like I'm chasing after stars
You hang your shoulders on the moon
I guess it's time your leaving soon

Tone down
Don't frown
Outta town
And Ya Come around

Your eyes like fire they burn me up
This time I know I've had enough
The page we spent has left me sour
And now you're gone my Sunday flower

Tone down
Don't frown
Outta town
And ya Come around

Anyways these are timeless days
Please don't fade away I guess I'll see you next Sunday
don't get caught in the down slide

ENJOY!!!

Nengazyo

a few days ago, i learned about nengazyo.

the japanese people have this tradition to send out letters every new year. if i am right, the letters are called nengazyo. it's an interesting tradition, and i really like the idea. you can write anything there(mostly about new year).

i researched about this and i found an intersting post:

Actually people spend a lot of times to prepare for NENGAZYO and write them down in December. I feel it is a kind of useless; nevertheless, there is also useful thing for the Japanese economy because people recently bought personal computers with printers only in order to save labor. The Japanese economy might get a benefit of it. It is an interesting example of a tradition of culture that leads the economy.

i got this from http://www.herb.ne.jp/~fushimi/newyear.html

Roller Coaster

we were asked to construct a roller coaster in physics.

i was not able to post anything because of this. my group mates and i were working yesterday. i even stayed a little longer.

the concept's good but we need to work harder to achieve it. the deadline's extended so it's cool.

tomorrow we will work on it in pao's house. he's not in our group but we will work there. we will go to the mall after, that's why we will work there. it will be hard for us to meet up after doing the project (and the fantastic 4 will not be complete--there's a story behind this)

good luck to us

Violence is DEFINITELY Not The Answer

a while ago, i played soccer; and little did i know that i was about to feel PAIN.

a member of the other team was approaching our goal. of course i needed to defend it so i went forward and tried to intercept the ball(i didn't succeed though).

but that's not the point.

this certain person hit my right chest hard. it was really painful. (until now, it still hurts.) and he hit the part near the right shoulder(my shoulders are not in good shape=sub-fractured).

but it's a game and everyone wants to win. and soccer is also a dangerous sport, so pain is expected.

Interesting Life Stories

i was roaming around when i heard some stories

Story number 1

i was looking at techie gadgets when i heard this

a girl is worrying because she thinks she's pregnant. she was talking to a friend and i heard their conversation. the friend said that she may be pregnant because of the "symptoms".

the girl was trying to convince herself and her friend that she isn't pregnant. then she said that there's someone who said that he is willing to take care of her but after the child's born, he will take the child. the girl said that she will be just like a baby maker; and she doesn't want it.

then the girl said something about "killing" the baby. now this is BAD.

Story Number 2

i was paying for something when i heard this

a man working in a mall asked his supervisor if he needs to buy new "something"(i think--uniform). he was hired last September. and a while ago he was asked to go to an office and the people said that he needs to buy something(i think--uniform).

as he was telling the story it seemed like he didn't want to buy this certain thing.

i guess he doesn't want to spend money. it seemed like he was worrying about spending.

Seat Plan

we have a new seat plan.

i like the new seat plan; and i am NOT telling the truth.

i like the old one better. everyone around me were good people(general word). i enjoyed staying there(my old place) and i didn't want to leave that place.

honestly, the new seat plan's OK, except for one major factor. there's something about the new seat plan that i am not liking.

my mission: to be transferred to another seat!!!

First Day For The Year '08

First Day For The Year '08

i wasn't in the mood to really indulge in some serious studying a while ago. i didn't get enough sleep and i felt my head was so heavy when i woke up.

even before our classes, i was already doing many things. i was cramming almost all of our home works. i was doing it even though i didn't like to do it. those were requirements so i needed to do it.

--we had a quiz in Physics--our first subject.
--we had to orient some third year students about TD during Homeroom. (the third year students will be experiencing their first tutoring day on january 24, so we need to orient them.)
--we also had a test in English
--we discussed some formulas in Math
--and in TD
--even in Media
--and Filipino.

after all these, i had to make the FAIR IDs.

i am part of a committee, and part of our jobs was to make all the fair ids.

Congratulations

I PASSED THE ACET. acet means ateneo college entrance test. i got accepted--YEY!!!!!!!

my course is economics. to be honest i don;t know much about this course. i just wrote it in my application form. and i got accepted.

last January 5, i surfed the net to see if i passed. my name didn't appear. it said,"Sorry but the name you entered is not in the list.

If your name does not appear on the screen, this means that you are neither accepted nor wait listed."

so i got scared. i thought that i failed to get in. however a classmate of mine told me that the database wasn't working and that he saw my name on the list when he went to ateneo. i didn't want to believe it at first since he once told me i was getting an award, just to find out that i wasn't. so i didn't believe him at first. but he showed a SOLID evidence. he sent me a link, and this brought me to a site where the pictures of the list were posted.

AND I FOUND MY NAME!!

Going Home

later, i will be heading back to manila. i don't know if i must get excited since i am going back, or i must not for the same reason.

i have a lot of things to do. LOTS OF HOMEWORKS!!!

the good side is, i will see my sister again.she will arrive tomorrow. another good thing, i will be able to do some things AGAIN.

side story

THE LESSON PLAN

yesterday, i tried making a lesson plan for TD. it was due last December 2007, but i failed to submit my paper. so i tried making a good one(compensation..ha ha). i was about to finish when the computer experienced TECHNICAL DIFFICULTIES!! only 2 parts were left blank when this happened. ARGH!!! everything was gone.

so i decided to make a new one. i was already halfway through when, again, the computer experienced TECHNICAL Difficulties!! again, everything was deleted.

after this i decided to just play cards with my brother. it was a clear sign that i must not do this LESSON PLAN!!

Mystery

interesting din ng araw na to
my brother told me a situation and asked me a question last night.

the situation:

a man was found dead. he had a tape recorder on one hand and a gun on the other. when the detective played the thing, the dead man said, "...i just want to die." after this, a gun shot was heard. the detective asked the roomate, "is this his voice?" the roomate answered yes. then the detective said, "who killed the man?"

the question: how did the detective find out that the man was murdered?

Fireworks

the fireworks display last new year's eve was fantastic. two houses decided to put up a "show"(using fireworks), and the shows were great.

i also "tried using" fireworks. it was my first time and i really enjoyed it. i was jumping and running because of the excitement. i was so happy.
